A Twisted Mind
Gacy was a homosexual Phedophile serial killer and quite a known one at that. He would rape, tourture and murder each of his victims, boys ranging from 14-21 years old. Gacy was even known to have shoved the victims underwear so far down their throats that they would choke to death. Gacy even claimed to have had orgasms while taking the lives of the young boys. After he was captured, he was reviewed by many different people in the medical field and they all came to one conclusion, something just wasnt right with this man. The biggest claim was that he had experienced an "irresistible impulse" when he killed. They said he had either blacked out or lost his morals by drinking so much that he just was unable to control himself. The defense pressed for an insanity plea but the jury didnt buy it considering some of his murders had been well thought out. A Psychologist stated that "an irresistible impulse cannot be planned in advance" thus shooting down his defense. The book My Life Among the Serial Killers was written by Dr. Helen Morrison who knew and studied gacy for 14 years. It acted as a "final word" on Gacy summing up his mental state.
